The operator of the Explorer and his eight passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries, two of the children suffered head injuries and are listed in serious condition at an area hospital.

Lynbrook, NY - July 18, 2016 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a serious auto accident that occurred on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 12:58 pm in Lynbrook.

According to detectives, while traveling southbound on Peninsula Boulevard in a Ford Explorer, the 46 year old male operator was in a collision with a Ford F-150.  The 38 year old male operator of the F-150 was attempting to make a left turn from northbound Peninsula Boulevard onto Lion Place when the collision occurred. 

The collision caused the Explorer to leave the roadway and strike a telephone pole.  The operator of the Explorer and his eight passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries, two of the children suffered head injuries and are listed in serious condition at an area hospital.

Brake and safety checks for the Ford F-150 were performed at scene and the Ford Explorer was impounded.  The investigation into this non-criminal accident continues.
