Islandia Man Arrested for Robbing 7-Eleven, According to SCPD

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for robbing a Central Islip 7-Eleven on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
 
Malcolm Crews entered 7-Eleven, located at 166 East Suffolk Ave., told the clerk he had a gun and demanded cash at 12:27 a.m. When the clerk did not comply, Crews reached over the counter, stole cash from the drawer, and then fled on foot.
 
Following an investigation, Third Squad detectives located Crews on East Cherry St. in Central Islip, where he was arrested at 12:57 a.m.  
 
Crews, 25, of Islandia was charged with Robbery 1st Degree. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
