Nassau Cops: Alleged Crack Dealer Taken Off Streets, into Custody after Foot Pursuit

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Westbury man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 8:45 pm in New Cassel.
 
According to Detectives, CIRRT Officers were conducting an investigation and observed a male walking towards the dead end of Bond Street. As Officers approached the subject, he immediately attempted to flee the scene on foot. Officers were able place the defendant into custody after a brief foot pursuit. 
 
One Officer sustained an injury during the course of the arrest and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment. 
 
Subsequent to the investigation, Officers recovered multiple clear plastic bags containing a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine from the defendant’s pocket. 
 
Defendant Nayya Miller is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. 
 
He will be arraigned on Friday, July 14, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
