Two Children In Critical Condition Following Two-Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that critically injured two children in Ridge early this morning.

The children, age 5 and 6, in one of the vehicles were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Detectives ask anyone with information on the incident to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.

Ridge, NY - July 5, 2016 - Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that critically injured two children in Ridge early this morning.

Lindsey Brown was driving a 2005 Suzuki southbound on Randall Road when she attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Route 25 and her vehicle was struck by a 2000 BMW, driven by Mark Helupka, that was traveling westbound on Route 25.

Brown’s two daughters, ages 5 and 6, who were seated in the backseat of the vehicle, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where they were admitted in critical condition. Brown, 39, of Ridge was also transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was admitted for non-life-threatening injuries. Helupka, 29, of Ridge, was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
