The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Copiague man for a Burglary that occurred on June 26, 2023 at 1:37 PM in Massapequa.
According to Detectives, Officers were investigating multiple bicycle larcenies that occurred at Dicks Sporting Goods located at 1188 Sunrise Mall that transpired over the past few days. The defendant Michael Marte, 36, of 365 Catskill Avenue was observed by officers entering the location; when the defendant recognized officer’s he fled the scene.
Defendant Marte was taken into custody without incident. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the defendant had a trespass ban from Dicks Sporting Goods and was not permitted in the store.
Defendant Michael Marte is charged with three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree and Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
