NCPD: Teen Suffers Compound Leg Fracture in Jones Inlet Jet Ski Collision

The Public Information Office reports a Jet Ski Accident that occurred on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 12:46 PM in Point Lookout.
 
According to Police, two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16, were riding jet skies in the Jones Beach Inlet when they collided into each other. The 16-year-old victim suffered a compound fracture to his leg.
 
The U.S. Coast Guard, along with the Town of Hempstead Bay Constables and the Long Beach Fire Department assisted in locating the injured juvenile and brought him to shore at the West Marina, located at 1401 Lido Boulevard. 
 
The victim was transported by a Nassau County Police Helicopter to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment where he is currently in stable condition. The other juvenile sustained no injuries at scene. Investigation is ongoing.
