The Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of a Smithtown man for Sexual Abuse that occurred in Bethpage.
 
According to detectives, Defendant Joseph Gallagher, 28, of Smithtown, while employed as a teacher at Bethpage High School, engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female victim.  The school was notified of a possible incident and contacted Police who continued to conduct a thorough investigation. Defendant Gallagher was arrested without incident.

Defendant Joseph Gallagher is charged with two (2) counts of Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned at First District Court, Hempstead.
