Preventing Tragedy in Suffolk County, Search Warrant Results in Arrest of Two Brothers in Possession of Weapons, Bomb Making Instructions

Yaphank, NY - June 17, 2016 - On Thursday, June 21st, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined Police Commissioner Tim Sini at Suffolk County Police Headquarters to announce the results of a search warrant executed at a Mount Sinai residence early that morning. The search resulted in the arrest of two brothers, as well as the confiscation of drugs, multiple weapons, high-capacity magazine, bomb making instructions and more than $40,000.

“I thank the Suffolk County Police Department for their vigilance in keeping our communities safe,” said Legislator Anker. “The search that occurred today may have prevented a violent incident from occurring in our community. It is vital for residents, our most important resource, to report incidences to the police. If you see something, say something!” 

Legislator Anker stressed the importance of notifying authorities if a resident feels uncomfortable or if there is suspicious activity in your neighborhood. Residents should immediately call 911 for emergencies and 631-852-NARC (6872) to report drug activity.
