Southampton, NY - June 15, 2015 - At approximately 12:45 a.m., today’s date, the New York State Police Barracks in Riverside was contacted by Southampton Hospital and advised that there were two walk-in victims who reported being shot on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, Town of Southampton.  State Troopers responded to the hospital and were advised that the victims were suffering from non life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims, who were identified as local residents, were reportedly attending a memorial service on the reservation when an altercation involving gunfire erupted. One victim was subsequently flown to Stony Brook University Hospital where further treatment was rendered. The investigation is continuing.
