NCPD report the DWI arrest of Jessica Coleman of Miller Place, 22, after causing a serious accident in Freeport on Sunday, 6/11.

Freeport, NY - June 12, 2017 - Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a serious auto accident that occurred in Freeport on Sunday, 06/11/17 at 8:50 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Jessica Coleman, 22, of Miller Place, was operating a 2005 Jeep Liberty eastbound on Merrick Rd., when she drove off the roadway and hit a utility pole in front of 200 Merrick Rd.  Her female passenger, 22, who was unrestrained in the rear seat during the collision, was thrown into the rear cargo area. Freeport police responded to the scene and determined the defendant to be intoxicated.
 
The female passenger, who sustained a severe head injury, was transported to a local hospital, where she is listed in serious condition. Defendant Coleman sustained minor abrasions.
 
Coleman is being charged with DWI, Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Monday, 06/12/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
