Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos visited NY Rehab Prosthetics to witness the presentation and fitting of new prosthetic legs for Mr. Javier Amaya. After months of searching for an organization that will help with finding a prosthetic leg for Mr. Amaya, NY Rehab Prosthetics was a beacon of hope which will undoubtedly change Javier Amaya quality of life.
Javier Amaya's, 27, who is a recent migrant to the United States has never had a prosthetic leg since his leg was amputated at the age of 22. On his journey towards recovery Mr. Amaya took a significant turn for the better when he reached out for assistance from the Office of Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos who coordinated an assessment with NY Rehab Prosthetics. After several visits, on May 17, 2024, Javier Amaya received a new prosthetic leg from NY Rehab Prosthetics at their Freeport location with owner and CEO Michael Nadata. This act underscores the company's unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life of those in need.
Throughout his journey, Javier's determination and perseverance has been exemplary. With the support of NY Rehab Prosthetics, he is thrilled to be reclaiming his independence.
