Elmont, NY - May 20, 2015 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 5:04 am in Elmont.

According to detectives, a 71 year old female victim was crossing northbound to southbound on Hempstead Turnpike, east of Meacham Avenue, when she was struck by a 2003 Harley Davidson operated by a 57 year old male travelling west on Hempstead Turnpike.  Both the operator and the passenger were transported by Nassau County Police Department ambulances to a local nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.  The pedestrian suffered a serious leg injury and the operator suffered non-life threatening internal injuries.  The motorcycle was impounded for a safety test.  There is no apparent criminality at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
