Mastic Beach, NY - May 18, 2015 - Members of the William Floyd Retired Teachers Chapter recently spent a day volunteering and assisting with the construction of a Habitat for Humanity home located at 85 Maywood Drive in Mastic Beach and presented the organization with a $2,500 donation.

They worked side-by-side with Olabisi Ogunnoik, the future homeowner and mother of two boys aged 16 and 19, who has been working on the home for months along with other Habitat volunteers including students from the Building Trades & Construction Academy at William Floyd High School.

“William Floyd teachers have always been about giving back to the community and even in retirement we continue to do so,” said Linda Mooney, the chapter treasurer and a former William Floyd High School math teacher.
