Multiple sources have confirmed that the body of James Jaronczyk, who went missing when he was ejected from his boat in the Great South Bay on Sunday, has been found.

The 28-year-old Massapequa man went overboard when his boat hit a wave on Sunday evening and searchers had been scouring the area all week, including the Coast Guard and volunteers.

Suffolk County Police did not verify the information when asked by email but replied with a statement.

“A body was recovered in the Great South Bay, off Babylon, at approximately 6:45am on May 11,” they said in the email to LongIsland.com. “The identification is pending.”

Mayor Mary Adams from the Village of Babylon confirmed the sad news on Facebook.

“Earlier this morning, missing boater James Jaronczyk was discovered by Suffolk County Underwater Marine Rescue with family and friends gathered as they have been over the last 4 days since James went missing after a boating accident on Sunday, May 7th, 2023,” Adams wrote.

She said that Jaronczyk was found in the location where rescue teams and divers were concentrating just west of the village pool.

“James… May you rest in peace and shine your love and strength down on your family forever,” she added.

On social media, people flocked to Jaronczyk's Instagram account to pay their respects.

"race in paradise ❤️🙏🏻," one person wrote.
