Cops: Hicksville Business Surveillance Video Leads to Burglary Arrest

The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Farmingdale man for a Burglary that occurred on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 at 3:00 A.M in Hicksville.
 
According to detectives, the owner of Glamorous Events Planner, located at 250 West Old Country Road, Hicksville, was notified by her business partner who was monitoring live surveillance footage from her home, that an unknown person was inside their store without permission. The victim who also had access to the surveillance from her home logged on and observed a white male, wearing a black sweater, black pants, a white mask and gloves walking throughout the store. 
 
The victim notified police who responded and upon arrival found the defendant, Edward McGuire, 23, of Farmingdale, standing in the rear of the store. After a police investigation, it was determined that the defendant was responsible for the Burglary and was placed into custody without incident.
 
Upon further investigation it was determined that the defendant Edward McGuire, was also responsible for a burglary and an attempted burglary that occurred earlier the same night at two other businesses in the area.
 
Defendant Edward McGuire is charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, one count of Attempted Burglary, and possession of Burglar’s Tools. The Defendant will be arraigned on Sunday, May 05, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
