Hicksville, NY - January 10, 2017 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of an Amityville woman for Criminal Possession of a Stolen Auto that occurred in Hicksville on Monday, January 08, 2018 at 10:41 pm.
 
According to detectives, a Second Precinct Police officer responded to route 106 south in Hicksville for a 2015 Nissan reported stolen earlier in the day. The officer after following the auto observed two females subjects exit the car and began running away in the vicinity of Route 106 and Salisbury Drive. 
 
The officer began a brief foot pursuit and with the assistance of the Nassau County Police Aviation, Bureau of Special Operations Unit, and the K9 Unit the defendants Anyelina Rodriguez, 16, and her 16 year old female passenger were both placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported. The 16 year old passenger was later released after an investigation.
 
Anyelina Rodriguez is charged with Criminal Possession of a Stolen Auto, and multiple Vehicular Traffic Law Violations. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
