A new sushi spot called Ginza opened up in Levittown recently. The restaurant relocated from a much larger stand-alone place in Massapequa (a beautifully architectured building on Carmans Road near the Sunrise Mall) and moved into the old Tai Show spot in Gardiners Plaza.

Ginza had been known as one of the best sushi bars on Long Island before it closed in Massapequa in 2020. The new place has new fans and is bringing back old ones.

They offer a selection of ala carte sushi and sashimi including some classic rolls we all have come to expect. Chef special rolls include an Angel roll with tuns, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, caviar and kelp paper ($15), the Syosset with spicy tuna and avocado ($15), the Red Devil with spicy tuna, crunch, black pepper tuna and callion ($16) and the Sexy Model with spicy tuna, crunch, tuna, ikura (salmon eggs) and scallion ($16).

On Yelp, Fred F, from Wantagh, gave them five stars.

“This is a relatively new Japanese restaurant,” he wrote. “The decor is very pretty & the food is excellent. We went there for dinner tonight and the ambiance is very unassuming. We will be returning to this restaurant many times.”

Kelly V, from Levittown, agreed, also giving them a maximum score.

“Delicious food,” Kelly wrote.
