LIGHT SNOW AND SPOTTY LIGHT FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE THIS EVENING As temperatures slowly rise this evening, light snow should quickly change over to rain across Long Island, New York City and the suburbs just north and west, and across coastal and southeastern Connecticut, with at least a coating of accumulation, and as much as an inch farther away from the coast. As precipitation mixes with and changes to rain, road temperatures in these areas may still be below freezing even as air temperatures slowly rise to the mid and upper 30s, and a light glaze of ice may be possible on untreated surfaces. So plan on slippery conditions this evening even as temperatures slowly rise.

Fatal Vehicular Accident in Lake Success Currently Being Investigated.

Lake Success, NY - March 27, 2015 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:45 am in Lake Success.
 
According to detectives, a female victim, 74, was found on the east sidewalk of Lakeville Road in the vicinity of Farm Lane.  The victim appeared to be struck by a vehicle and was in cardiac arrest.  She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced at 11:18 by hospital staff.  A witness gave police a registration plate for a vehicle that possibly struck the victim.  Lake Success Police were able to locate and stop the vehicle a short distance away on East Shore Road.  It was determined that the commercial vehicle was involved. 
 
The vehicle was impounded at the scene.
 
This investigation is on-going.
