Rocky Point, NY - March 17, 2015 - On March 15, 2015, Legislator Anker participated in the 65th Annual Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day parade. Joined by other elected officials, Friends of St. Patrick volunteers, Parade Grand Marshal Michael Tatilian, and Parade Queen Jaclyn Grennan and her Ladies-in-Waiting Jaclyn Pearson and Tara Sanders.

Following the parade, Legislator Anker visited the Rocky Point VFW for their post-parade celebration.

“The Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day parade is always a fun and exciting event,” said Legislator Anker. “I thank all of the many volunteers and participants for their warm hearts and dedicated efforts in making the day shine!”

In 1950, local businessman John M. Sullivan and George Faulkner formed the Friends of Saint Patrick. The group pledged to provide the community with an opportunity to reconnect with friends and neighbors after the long winter they endured. The first parade occurred on March 11, 1951 and followed the same three mile route it follows today along 25A from Miller Place to Broadway in Rocky Point.
