Police Arrest Man in Lynbrook for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance After Call to Aid Person Suffering Heroin Overdose

Lynbrook, NY - March 16, 2017 - Lynbrook Police report the details of an arrest for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 5:42 pm in Lynbrook.

According to detectives, at 1:15 pm Lynbrook patrol officers responded for an aided case in the confines of Lynbrook where the aided was suffering from a heroin overdose. The aided was administered Narcan and transported to an area hospital for treatment.  The Lynbrook Police Department was assisted by the Nassau County Narcotics Vice Bureau. An investigation led to the identification of Josef Dahari, 35, of Woodmere as the person who sold heroin to the aided. 

Detectives were able to meet Dahari in the parking lot of CVS located at 633 Merrick Road, Lynbrook at which time he was in possession of 80 bags of heroin.  As officers attempted to place Dahari under arrest he fought with them.  After a struggle officers were able to handcuff him and take him into custody.  He was then found to be in possession of an Amphetamine pill. No injuries are reported at this time.

Dahari is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Resisting Arrest.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
