NCPD: Uniondale Man Arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance and Firearm in West Hempstead Traffic Stop

A Uniondale man was arrested in West Hempstead for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and a loaded firearm after being stopped for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 1:22 a.m. in West Hempstead.
 
According to Detectives, Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) Officers observed a 2015 black Cadillac Escalade traveling northbound on Cherry Valley Avenue with tinted windows and failing to maintain its lane. Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop near the intersection of Grand Ave and conducted an investigation that resulted in a loaded Smith and Wesson .45 caliber handgun and a substance believed to be crack cocaine being recovered from the vehicle. The driver, defendant Warren Samuels, 44 of 341 Fenmore Avenue, was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Defendant Warren Samuels is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, Criminal Possession of Control Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession
of Controlled Substance 7th degree, Attempted Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations. Defendant Warren Samuels will be arraigned on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
