Catch a Show at the John W. Engeman Theater

The John W. Engeman Theater has been a long-running staple of Northport Village for many years. Movie and theater lovers can catch a live-action production of movie classics like Grease, Annie and Singin’ In The Rain. They also have a children’s theater that shows special productions of popular children’s movies and older classics like Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz. Take the whole family and experience quality shows without the Broadway prices. For more information, visit www.engemantheater.com

Head to the Dock!

Head over to the Northport Village dock and spend a day picnicking on the shore or shopping around. The Northport dock is located right in town, so there are plenty of speciality shops near by to do some retail therapy. Browse for gourmet olive oil and vinegars at The Olive Tree or stop into Heartichoke for one-of-a-kind home decor and handcrafted jewelry. For the kiddos? Directly off the dock is a dog friendly park where children can burn off some energy on the playground and your pup can enjoy a leashed stroll. And don’t forgot to wrap up your day by the dock too! There is no better place to catch a beautiful waterfront sunset. Pro Tip: Headed to the village between the months of June-November? Don’t forget to stop into the farmer’s market located at the foot of Main Street down to the dock.

Visit the Lewis Oliver Farm Sanctuary

The Lewis Oliver Farm is a historic Northport landmark dating all the way back to the mid-1800s. Today, the farm serves as a sanctuary to a family of rescued farm animals. In addition to the animals, the property also features original historic barns, botanical and vegetable gardens, native wildlife, a country store and education center. Grab a wagon before heading in and shop the fresh produce while visiting the community’s beloved animals! For more information, visit www.lewisoliverfarm.org.

Get on the Water

One of the greatest things about being close to the water is having the opportunity to enjoy spending the day boating or taking part in some water sports. Kismet Cruising offers a fun-filled 3-4 hour private sailboat charter right from the dock. Captain Brian Baldauf has been sailing the harbor for more than 25 years and provides you with an exceptional sailing experience! From afternoon cruises to local history tours, Kismet Cruising has something for everyone. For more information and to book a cruise, visit www.kismetcruising.com

Grab a Meal on Main Street

Main street has plenty of options when it comes to eating out. Enjoy a homestyle breakfast at the iconic Tim’s Shipwreck Diner, relax with some fresh locals oysters and mimosa flights at Rockin’ Fish or indulge in something special. If you have some time to spare, we suggest taking a culinary adventure through Maroni’s tasting menu. Maroni serves up eclectic Italian fare, dished out in a one-of-a-kind tasting menu. Pro Tip: Book a reservation in advance and bring cash. Maroni is cash only.
