Mastic, NY - February 29th, 2016 - Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged a Mastic man with misdemeanor animal cruelty on Friday, February 26, 2016.
 
The dog was treated at Atlantic Coast Veterinary Hospital in Bohemia for a chronic infected neck wound allegedly caused by an embedded collar resulting in damage to the jugular vein.

Jaron Miller, 38, of Squaw Lane, Mastic, NY surrendered Bella, a 4 year old female pit bull, to the Suffolk County SPCA. Anyone interested in adopting Bella can contact Kent Animal Shelter 631-727-5731.

Miller will appear in First District Court in Central Islip on April 21, 2016. Chief Roy Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County.
