Woman Killed in Hauppauge Motor Vehicle Crash, SCPD Reports

SCPD reports a two-vehicle crash that killed a woman in Hauppauge on Sunday, February 18.

Hauppauge, NY - February 19, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a woman in Hauppauge on Sunday, February 18.
 
Patrick Chestnut was driving a 2014 Mazda eastbound on Nesconset Highway when he attempted to make a turn at Route 111 and his vehicle crashed head-on with a 2017 Honda traveling westbound on Nesconset Highway at approximately 12:15 p.m. 
 
The driver of the Honda, Robert Sheehan, 73, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. His wife, Lorraine Sheehan, 70, was transported to St. Catherine’s of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where she was pronounced dead. Chestnut, 32, of Fairfield, Ohio, and his passenger Karma Spear, 31, of Bay Shore, were both transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Fourth Squad at (631) 854-8452.
