At 429 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Stamford to Elmont. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. Pea size hail is possible with these storms. Locations impacted include... Stamford, Norwalk, Levittown, Huntington Station, Port Chester, Glen Cove, Plainview, Garden City, New Canaan, Syosset, Mineola, Huntington, Rye, Westbury and Great Neck. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Woman Killed in Hauppauge Motor Vehicle Crash, SCPD Reports

Officials: A man making a turn at Route 111 crashed head-on with a vehicle traveling on Nesconset Highway.

SCPD reports a two-vehicle crash that killed a woman in Hauppauge on Sunday, February 18.

Hauppauge, NY - February 19, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a woman in Hauppauge on Sunday, February 18.
 
Patrick Chestnut was driving a 2014 Mazda eastbound on Nesconset Highway when he attempted to make a turn at Route 111 and his vehicle crashed head-on with a 2017 Honda traveling westbound on Nesconset Highway at approximately 12:15 p.m. 
 
The driver of the Honda, Robert Sheehan, 73, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. His wife, Lorraine Sheehan, 70, was transported to St. Catherine’s of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where she was pronounced dead. Chestnut, 32, of Fairfield, Ohio, and his passenger Karma Spear, 31, of Bay Shore, were both transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Fourth Squad at (631) 854-8452.
