Hicksville AT&T Employee Arrested for Embezzling Over $158,000 Using Company Credit Cards

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for multiple Grand Larcenies that occurred in Nassau County on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 11:45 PM. 
 
According to Detectives, Fifth Precinct police responded to the AT & T store, located at 176 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square for a Grand Larceny. A 28-year-old male employee stated that a former employee, defendant Usman Ghafoor, 34, of 17 Thimble Lane, made unauthorized transactions on several AT&T business accounts totaling 158,354.81 on various dates The defendant would use various existing business credit card accounts to reimburse other account holders without permission. Upon further investigation, detectives were able to locate defendant Ghafoor at his residence and he was placed into custody without incident on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
 
Usman Ghafoor is charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Thursday, February 15, 2024 in First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
