NCPD: Flushing Man Arrested for Grand Larceny

A Flushing man has been arrested for stealing several cell phones from students at LIU Post in Brookville.

Brookville, NY - Feburary 6, 2014 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Flushing man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Saturday, January 1, 2014 at 1:58 p.m. in Brookville.
 
According to detectives, the defendant Dasheen Simpkins, 20 162-08 77th Avenue was attending a basketball game on Saturday, January 1, 2014 at C. W. Post College, located at 722 Northern Boulevard when he was observed on video surveillance entering the visitors team locker room. A subsequent investigation determined Simpkins removed four cell phones and two cell phone cases from the players and coach of the visiting men’s basketball team. Simpkins was located by Second Squad Detectives at his residence on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 8:20 p.m. and placed under arrest without incident.
 
Simpkins is charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree and four counts of Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
