Valley Stream, NY - November 16th, 2013 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for Attempted Robbery on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:00 A.M. in Valley Stream.  
 
According to detectives, a male victim, 20, was walking from the Check Cashing store located at 500 West Sunrise Highway when he was approached by Ryed A. Alsaidi, 18, of 936 E. 80th Street, Apt 1, who reached into the victims pockets and demanded cash.  When the victim refused Alsaidi threatened him with a gun which was not displayed.  The victim ran and called police.  Responding Officers located Alsaidi in the rear of 460 West Sunrise Highway and placed him under arrest without incident.  No injuries were reported.
 
The defendant is charged with Robbery 2nd degree (Attempt) and will be arraigned on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
