Man Arrested with DWI with 4-Year-Old Daughter in Vehicle on LIE

The Highway Patrol Bureau reports the details of an arrest for driving while intoxicated with a child in the car (Leandra’s Law) which occurred in Westbury on Monday, 1/30/17 at 9:06 P.M.

The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and the child was released to a family member. No injuries were reported.

Westbury, NY - January 31, 2017 - The Highway Patrol Bureau reports the details of an arrest for driving while intoxicated with a child in the car (Leandra’s Law) which occurred in Westbury on Monday, 01/30/17 at 9:06 P.M.

A highway police officer, while on patrol, observed Fei Guo, 45, of Syosset, operating a 2015 Jeep eastbound on the Long Island Expressway at exit 39.  The defendant was driving across roadway markings and unable to maintain his lane, while operating below the posted speed limit.  After conducting a VTL stop, the officer observed the defendant’s four-year-old daughter in a child safety seat in the rear of the vehicle.  Guo was placed under arrest at the scene and the child was released to a family member.

No injuries were reported.

Gui is being charged with DWI, Aggravated Driving Intox (Child 15), DWI (BAC+.08), Fail to Signal Lane Change, Driving Across Roadway Marking, Fail to Stay in Single Lane , Min Speed Viol Posted Limit and Fail to Notify Change of Address.  He will be arraigned on Tuesday, 01/31/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
