Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the driver of an SUV that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.

Mastic Beach, NY - January 26th, 2015 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the driver of an SUV that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.
 
On Friday, January 23, 2015, at approximately 8 p.m., a female pedestrian was walking on Pineway Avenue, just east of Mill Drive, in Mastic Beach when she was struck by a dark-colored SUV. The driver of the SUV, which was traveling eastbound on Pineway Avenue at the time of the crash, fled the scene.  The SUV was last seen making a right turn onto southbound Stackyard Drive in Mastic Beach.
 
The 22-year-old victim was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue where she was treated for numerous injuries including a fractured pelvis.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
