Substitute Mail Carrier Arrested for Grand Larceny in East Garden City

Shereen Maignan, 25, of Baldwin worked as a substitute mail carrier in East Meadow. Maignan was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny and Identify Theft.

East Garden City, NY - January 19, 2016 - The Major Case Bureau reports a Grand Larceny that occurred on September 12, 2014 at 5:24pm in East Garden City.

According to Crimes Against Property Detectives, defendant Shereen Maignan, 25, of Baldwin did enter the Nordstrom’s located at 630 Old Country Road in East Garden City and was videotaped purchasing assorted merchandise valued over $4800.00 US Currency using a stolen Chase Bank credit card.  The credit card was reported by the victim as not being delivered/received through the US Postal Service.  The US Postal Inspector investigated the complaint and determined that the defendant was a substitute mail carrier for that time and location of East Meadow when the victim reported the incident.  After a combined effort of investigations, the defendant was located and arrested at 10:05am on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.

Defendant Shereen Maignan is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Identity Theft 1st Degree.  She was arraigned on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
