An extraordinarily lucky Long Islander is now a cool $20,000 richer after hitting it big with a winning New York State lottery ticket.
The grand prize-winning $20,972 TAKE 5 ticket was purchased at the King Kullen supermarket at 552 Main Street in Center Moriches for the Friday, Janyary 5 mid-day drawing, according to lottery officials.
Upon winning, the ticket purchaser has one calendar year from the drawing date to claim their prize.
