Freeport, NY - January 9, 2017 - Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy will lace up his skates and hit the ice with Long Island Arrows youth hockey President Robert Albi and former NHL players from the New York Rangers, to kick off a new program in the Village of Freeport that will help hundreds of underprivileged kids pursue their dreams of becoming the next “Great One” on Monday January 9th 2017 at 5pm at the Freeport Recreation Center (130 E Merrick Rd, Freeport, NY 11520).
 
The youth developmental program will provide greater access to low-cost equipment, lessons, transportation and ice time. 
 
Mayor Kennedy and The Rangers Alumni Association will also announce the starting lineup for a Long Island charity match later this month with the goal of raising $25,000 to fund youth hockey in under-served communities throughout Long Island.
