King Quality, a Long Island-based roofing, siding and window contractor, will donate and install a new roof for a new home being built by Habitat for Humanity of Long Island in Wyandanch, NY, on January 5, 2024.

This roof donation is the latest charitable effort by King Quality Cares, a new philanthropic organization whose mission is to provide direct help, support, and awareness-building for the important work being done by charities and community organizations across Long Island. The new home – at 30 Jackson Street -- is being built by Habitat for Humanity of Long Island and will be the sixth home built by Habitat in Wyandanch.

The roof will be installed on Friday, January 5th, 2024.

“We are excited and honored to be able to help out with this new home build,” said Jeff Brett, owner and Chief Executive Officer of King Quality. “Habitat for Humanity of Long Island has been helping Long Island families achieve their dream of homeownership for a long time and we hope that our continuing partnership will help Habitat build many more affordable homes for low-mid income families in the future.”

The new home under construction will be occupied by Glenda and her family, who will fulfill 300 hours of “sweat equity,” helping to build their future homes and houses for others in the program. In addition, they will go through financial preparation classes and volunteer for community service. Each homeowner will sign a 30-year mortgage with two percent interest, with Habitat covering a second mortgage.

The new donated roof incorporates the same high-quality, seven-part roofing system used by King Quality in its standard commercial roofing installations.
