The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County is one of the largest youth-serving agencies on Long Island. Girl Scouts aims to empower girls, develop character by teaching values such as honesty, fairness and courage through activities such as camping and community service. Girls earn badges as they acquire each skill, and will move up in ranks and receive special awards as recognition for their achievements.

Comprehensive programs are offered to both girls and their families, including mother and daughter crafts, various themed parties, and field trips. Girl Scouts are also offered summer camp opportunities at Camp Edey in Bayport, a 95-acre natural preserve on the Sans Souci Lakes. Camp Edey offers swimming, boating and fishing, arts and crafts, and talent shows.
