The Suffolk County Council serves more than 31,000 youth each year in Suffolk County by providing a comprehensive values-based program which helps scouts develop character, teaches citizenship and encourages self-reliance through participation in various outdoor activities, educational programs and career-oriented programs.  This particular council was chartered in April, 1919 and covers four districts: Benjamin Tallmadge, Matinecock, Sagtikos and Trailblazer. Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, located in Calverton, is the council camp and offers year-round camping and programs for Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in activities such as swimming, sailing, boating, and nature studies.
