Family Thanksgiving Ceramics Workshop

Decorate your Thanksgiving table with a beautiful ceramic dish. Parents, grandparents, kids of all ages come together at our one day workshops to create unique art projects on ceramic bisqueware! Unique surface decoration techniques will be taught, such as stamping, printing and stenciling. With expert instruction you’ll create your one-of-a-kind designs to proudly show off at home or to give as special gifts.

Southampton Farmers and Artisans Market through Thanksgiving

Plenty of food and gifts from old and new vendors.

1863 Thanksgiving Celebration

Old Bethpage Village Restoration's 1863 Thanksgiving Celebration is scheduled for November 27th and 28th. Visitors to the county's re-created mid-19th century community can enjoy the sights and aromas of an old-fashioned Thanksgiving, as wood-burning stoves, beehive ovens, and hearths are used to prepare foods and baked goods made from authentic 19th century recipes.

Location: Old Bethpage Village Restoration, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage.

Long Island Turkey Trail Trot 5K

This fall, head down to Bethpage State Park and support the Never Stop Running Foundation for the third annual Long Island Turkey Trail Trot. Run through the scenic trails of the park and walk away with some awesome turkey swag to commemorate your achievement. Fun for the whole family.

Location: Bethpage State Park, 99 Quaker Meeting House Road, Bethpage.

Pumpkin Drop at the Cradle of Aviation Museum

The Cradle of Aviation Museum invites visitors to drop pumpkins from the museum’s second-floor balcony, and watch them go splat as gravity takes over. Bring your own pumpkin or purchase one from the museum for $2 while supplies last. The pumpkins become a pile of pulp two floors below. It’s a great way to demonstrate the effects of gravity and a great opportunity to let out a little frustration.

Location: Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Garden City, (516) 572-4111.
