Pick a Theme

Choosing a theme is the perfect way to get your guests excited and ready for your big party! Plus, it makes for super cute pictures that you can post online.

Send Out Invites

Decide who you want at your party and send an invitation! Try to avoid sending an invite over text. Instead, opt to send out physical invitation or even an online invitation through evite.com. This way, your guests will RSVP so you can get a head count of how many people to expect.

Decorations

The way in which you decorate your party will have a big impact on how much fun your   guests will have. Be sure to buy lots of fun decorations that match your theme. Fun decorations will also contribute to cuter pictures that are Instagram worthy.

Food

After sending out invitations and getting a rough number of how many guests to expect, plan to buy food accordingly. You rather buy more than run out of supplies for your guests. Extras can always be saved for later! As for what type of food to get, try to get food that matches your theme. If not possible, pizza, sandwiches, hotdogs, and hamburgers are always a safe bet! Additionally, stock up on snacks such as chips, cookies, fruit, and ice cream for those with a sweet tooth. All the food should be laid out on a table for easy access at any time!

Drinks

Similarly, use the number of guests that have RSVP’d to gauge how many drinks to buy. Make sure to decide whether you want to serve alcohol or not at your party. If possible, try setting up a bar or a make-shift bar to make it clear where the drinks are served. If your party is themed, try incorporating special cocktails that go with your theme. If not, pina coladas, margaritas, and beer are always nice to drink on a hot summer’s day.

Music

You will definately want to play music during your pool party. Once again, try picking music that goes with your theme. However, if not possible, play some upbeat music that you and your friends all enjoy listening too. It is recommended that you make a playlist beforehand so that there are no songs that start playing during the party that are inappropriate for the crowd or unenjoyable.

Have Fun!

Although hosting a party may be a lot of work and very stressful, try to enjoy it! You will be surrounded by your friends at an amazingly themed party with great food and delicious drinks. Snap a few pictures, talk to your friends, and go for a dip in the pool. Your hard work in throwing a party is over, so have some fun!
