Looking for the perfect, calm companion?

Bandit is a chocolate-colored 5 1/2-year old Lab mix. She is gentle and shy around new people, but quickly warms up and has that tail wagging and a big smile on her face. She also knows basic commands, including paw and speak! Bandit loves her blanket and is perfectly content curling up with her favorite toy monkey, but this girl has the energy of a young pup. Bandit's adoption number is R121837.

Whether it's relaxing on an office chair or just hanging out with our staff, 9-year old Jace is quite possibly one of the most lovable cats you'll ever meet. This sweet kitty enjoys lounging, but is also a curious and energetic companion. He is smart enough to let you know when he needs attention, or maybe an extra treat or a belly rub. If you want a cat who enjoys snacks, naps, and belly rubs, then Jace is the guy for you. Jace will do best as the only pet in the home, and with children over 10. This cat-room- favorite will have a crowd waiting to say goodbye when he gets adopted! Although he brings happiness to our staff, a year is way too long for this boy to spend without a family. Jace’s adoption number is MA0166.

Effie is a 4-year old Great Pyrenees mix, perfect for those who love a gentle giant! This fluffy polar bear is sweet and loves attention, and will return affection with tons of cuddles and kisses. She is very smart, knows basic commands, is perfect on the leash and housebroken. Effie will do best in a home with kids older than 12 who can keep up with her playful energy, and would prefer to be the only pet so she can be your fluffy princess. Effie is famous for photographing flawlessly and is at home in the snow or rolling around in the grass. Effie’s adoption number is T78400.

Bowser is a young Pitbull mix and as cute as a button. This little guy is stout and strong and absolutely adorable. He is a great learner and is rapidly making progress during the short time he’s been at Animal League America. Bowser will do best in a home with no cats and would like to meet any potential canine companions at our adoption center first! Bowser’s adoption number is D48467. Good news, Long Island! Bowser has been adopted, and loves his new fur-ever home!

You can meet any of these pets June 6th and 7th during North Shore Animal League America’s Pet Adoptathon, a 36 hour pet adoption event with over 700 adoptable animals and plenty of fun for the entire family! Learn more about the event here!
