Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash on Long Island

Suffolk County Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Shirley, New York.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Shirley last night.
 
Chris T. was driving a 2016 Subaru eastbound in the travel lane of Montauk Highway, west of Camp Upton Road, when the vehicle struck Paul Moran, who was traveling on foot southbound across Montauk Highway, at approximately 8:39 p.m.
 
Moran, 57, of Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene by an EMT with Shirley Community Ambulance. The 53-year-old driver, of Shirley, was not injured.
 
The Subaru was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
