Suffolk County Police cited three drivers for reckless driving at a car meet last night in Mt. Sinai.
 
In response to community complaints, Sixth Precinct officers, in conjunction with Brookhaven Town Public Safety Officers, responded to the scene of a car meet up at the Cedar Beach parking lot on Harbor Beach Road at approximately 10:45 p.m. The drivers were doing “burnouts” with their vehicles and attempting to participate in a street race.
 
When police arrived, multiple drivers fled and attempted to flee the scene in their vehicles. Three drivers were stopped and issued a total of 23 summonses.
 
Dezarae Manzanares, 19, of Rocky Point, Anthony Rojas, 18, of Coram, and a 17-year-old male driver were issued summonses for Trespass and Loitering, along with multiple other vehicle and traffic infractions.
 
They are scheduled to appear at Brookhaven Town Court on April 17 and at Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency on April 23.
