It’s President’s Day weekend, which means an extra-long weekend for many! Don’t miss out on great Long Island entertainment, including the Harlem Globetrotters at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, musical performances and more! On Friday, head over to Farmingdale Lanes for the Paws N’ Pins Bowl-a-ton. There are also great performances, including Testament “Dark Roots of Thrash” at The Paramount and Carrie, The Musical at Cultural Arts Playhouse. On Saturday, Little Women, The Musical plays at CM Performing Arts Center. There are also great music performances happening, including Little Anthony & The Imperials, The Spinners at NYCB Theatre At Westbury and an Eagles tribute band at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center. On Sunday, head over to Walt Whitman Mall to learn how to cook like a pro with a chef from a popular Huntington restaurant. The Long Island Tuba Quartet also performs at Connetquot Public Library and the Harlem Globetrotters perform on Sunday on Long Island before moving on to another location. FRIDAY – FEBRUARY 15, 2013

Who: Paws N’ Pins Bowl-A-Ton At Farmingdale Lanes
Info: This bowl-a-ton is for Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. It’s dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of stray, abandoned and death-due pound animals. There will be a full night of fun bowling, prizes and food. Price includes shoe rental, soda and pizza.

Who: Testament “Dark Roots Of Thrash” At The Paramount
Info: Testament stands as one of the originators of the late 80s San Francisco metal sound. Today, it offers event heavier sound with the addition of guitarist James Murphy.

Who: Carrie, The Musical At Cultural Arts Playhouse
Info: It’s opening night! It’s based on the novel by Stephen King. It tells the story of a teenage girl, Carrie, who’s an outcast at her school. She is bullied by the popular clique at school, but she uses here telekinetic powers to seek revenge.

Who: Little Women, The Musical At CM Performing Arts Center
Info:  This musical is based on Louisa May Alcott’s 1869 novel. It tells the story of a mother and four sisters in Massachusetts and their story while the family patriarch serves as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War.
