Kick off the holiday week remember what Martin Luther King did for this nation! On Monday, head out to the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County to enjoy a new exhibit with photojournalism of the largest protest the nation’s capital faced in 1963. The Bay Street Theatre will also be open to the public for the presidential inauguration. On Tuesday, enjoy interesting cooking classes at local public libraries on pizza making and Moroccan food. On Wednesday, there’s evening of yoga at Westhampton Free Library. Later in the night, Black Lantern Ultra Den has its open bar and sushi bar available. On Thursday, there’s the English Beat at The Paramount and a suspenseful thriller drama playing at John W. Engeman Theater. Check out the details below!

MONDAY – JANUARY 21, 2013

Who: And Freedom For All: The March On Washington For Jobs and Freedom At Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County
Info: Stop by to view a new exhibit that provides a view of the largest protest in the nation’s capital that happen in 1963 through photojournalism. During the march, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his speech, “I Have a Dream.” The exhibit also highlights women civil rights activists. The exhibit offers a snapshot of the American struggle for freedom. The exhibit continues to run through February.

Who: Presidential Inauguration On The Big Screen At Bay Street Theatre
Info: Bay Street Theatre is opening its doors to the public to view the broadcast of the presidential inauguration. Coffee and refreshments will also be available for purchase.

TUESDAY – JANUARY 22, 2013

Who: Cooking Class – Pizza From Scratch At Levittown Library
Info: Chef Richard Kanowsky will be on hand to take you through the history of pizza and run through the process of making dough, proofing it, and stretching it out. Select from a bunch of toppings to make your own fresh pizza to take with you. Register in advance, there is limited space.

Who: Cooking Around The World – Moroccan At Port Jefferson Library
Info: Chef Katherine Dlugolonski will have a demonstration on how to make delicious Moroccan food right in your own home. There are also samples available for tasting and all attendees will receive easy-to-follow recipe sheets.

Who: Wait Until Dark Thriller By Frederick Knott At John W. Engeman Theater
Info: This is a suspenseful, thriller drama about a recently blinded housewife who becomes the target of three con-men who are looking for drugs. Her husband has been persuaded to transport a doll across the border not realizing what’s inside it.
