The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 6 am EDT Sunday. * Winds...west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing...highest winds late this afternoon into early this evening. * Impacts...scattered tree limbs and branches downed. Isolated power outages. Strong gusty winds would blow around unsecured outdoor objects. Difficulty driving high profile vehicles. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph... or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. Road Closures in Huntington and Bay Shore On 9/6 and 9/7

The SCPD has issued the following traffic advisories.

Huntington, NY - September 5, 2014 - Suffolk County Police are advising motorists of a road closure in the Second Precinct on Saturday, September 6 due to the Huntington Awareness Day parade. Route 110 will be closed in both directions between West Hills Road and the Big H Shopping Center (Holdsworth Drive/Semon Road) between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Suffolk County Police Department Third Precinct is  also advising motorists of a road closure in Bay Shore on Sunday, September 7 for the Central American Parade. Fifth Avenue will be closed between Spur Drive North and Candlewood Road from 10 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. Traffic will be detoured to alternate routes.
