Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph... or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. SCPD Crime Alert: Man Shot in Wyandanch

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a Wyandanch man this evening.

Wyandanch, NY - July 10th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a Wyandanch man this evening.

A 20-year-old man was on North 15th Street, near Washington Avenue, in Wyandanch, when he was shot multiple times at approximately 5 p.m.  He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating the incident and ask anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential.
