Showers and thunderstorms will continue into Friday morning and begin to taper off from west to east during Friday afternoon. There is the potential for periods of heavy rainfall this evening into Friday afternoon. * The axis of heaviest rain remains uncertain. However...at this time the heaviest rain is forecast to extend from northeastern New Jersey into the lower Hudson Valley...New York City...and southern Connecticut. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible...with localized higher amounts possible. The main threat is flash flooding of low lying...poor drainage...and urbanized areas. SCPD Crime Alert: Mastic Bank Robbed

Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Mastic this afternoon.

Mastic, NY - February 27th, 2014 -  Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Mastic this afternoon.

A man entered the Capital One Bank located at 1235 Montauk Highway, approached a teller, and presented a note demanding cash at approximately 3:40 p.m.  The teller complied with the demand and the man fled the bank on foot.  He was last seen heading south towards Montauk Highway.  

The robber is described as a white male, between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 10 inches tall, in his mid-20s, with a thin build.  He was wearing a hat, blue jeans, and a dark colored jacket with white sleeves.
