Update: Man Arrested for Armed Robbery of Franklin Square Business

The Fourth Squad made an arrest for a robbery that occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at 6:24 p.m. in Franklin Square.

Update - May 14, 2014 - The Robbery Squad reports the arrest of Salvatore Scimeca, 55, of 255 Islip Boulevard for the above crime. Scimeca is being charged with 5 counts of Robbery 1st degree. He was arraigned on May 9, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.

Original Release - Franklin Square, NY - December 27th, 2013 - The Fourth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at 6:24 p.m. in Franklin Square.

According to detectives, a male white subject, approximately 40-50 years of age, wearing a black mask and black hooded sweat shirt entered Angel Nail and Spa, located at 679 Hempstead Turnpike. He displayed a black handgun and demanded the money from the register. The female victim, 43 years of age, complied with the demand and the subject fled with an undetermined amount of cash eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. There were no injuries reported.
