According to detectives, a 51 year old male was operating a 2013 Land Rover at Stonytown Road and Chanticlare Drive when his vehicle was struck by an unknown older model dark colored SUV occupied by four unknown male Hispanics. The victim pulled over to inspect the damage to his vehicle when two of the males displayed handguns. The subjects then removed the victim’s wallet, jacket containing the key fob for the vehicle and an undetermined amount of U.S. currency and pushed him to the ground. They then fled in the vehicle westbound on Stonytown Road.

A Third Precinct police officer observed the vehicle at Northern Boulevard and Community Drive in Manhasset where the subjects intentionally struck the marked police unit to evade apprehension. The officer was not injured and the vehicle fled westbound onto the Long Island Expressway. The stolen vehicle was located unoccupied at Queens Boulevard and 62nd Street in Woodside where an extensive search was conducted by both Nassau County Police and the New York Police Department with negative results. The vehicle was impounded and the victim treated for a minor back injury. There is no further description of the subjects or the vehicle they were operating.
