The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Cambria Heights man for an incident that occurred on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in Valley Stream.
According to Detectives, Fifth Precinct officers responded to a Valley Stream location to take a report for Assault. Upon police arrival officers spoke to 31-year-old female victim who had sustained a large laceration to the rear and left side of her neck.
The injury was caused by a knife wielded by the defendant, Charles Mckenzie, 36, of 11814 229th Street, who was at the scene where the report was taken. He was placed under arrest without further incident. The victim is being treated for her injury at a local hospital.
Defendant Mckenzie is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, December 18, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
