Brooklyn Man Busted in Westbury for Driving Stolen Car, Possessing 75 Bags of Crack

Defendant Elijah Augustin, 28, is charged with Criminal possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and Reckless Driving.

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for an incident that occurred on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 1:40 AM in Westbury.
 
According to Detectives, Third Precinct Officers responded to a call for a male going through a vehicle that was parked on Lennox Avenue. Officers canvassing the area witnessed the defendant, Elijah Augustin, 28, of 542 Gates Avenue, Apt. 2a, enter a 2009 white Toyota Matrix and leave the scene in this vehicle. 
 
Officers located the vehicle a short time later and discovered it to be stolen. 
 
The defendant was found on foot nearby and was placed under arrest. During the investigation Officers located 75 small plastic bags containing a white rock like substance believed to be crack-cocaine. During arrest processing the defendant was found to have an active Nassau County arrest warrant for a previous Petit Larceny.
 
Defendant Elijah Augustin is charged with Criminal possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd degree and Reckless Driving. 
 
He was arraigned on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
