The Cradle of Aviation Museum, a staple in Garden City, is making headlines for its commitment to environmental sustainability, resulting in significant financial savings. PSEG Long Island has applauded the museum's efforts, estimating that their recent energy-efficient project will slash energy usage by over 400,000 kilowatt-hours annually, translating to approximately $70,000 in reduced energy costs each year.

The museum's dedication to going green has not only been a win for the environment but has also earned them a noteworthy financial reward. PSEG Long Island recently presented the Cradle of Aviation Museum with an impressive $115,696 in energy efficiency rebates for its innovative initiative. This remarkable accomplishment comes on the heels of the museum's installation of more than 800 new LED lighting fixtures and LED lightbulbs, primarily in the main galleries of the aerospace museum.

Michael Voltz, the Director of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for PSEG Long Island, expressed his commendation for the museum's commitment to energy efficiency. "PSEG Long Island commends the Cradle of Aviation Museum for replacing its lighting throughout the museum with energy-efficient LEDs," Voltz stated. "By making this significant upgrade, we were able to provide the museum with a substantial rebate, and the exhibits look great with the new lighting."

Jennifer Baxmeyer, Executive Director of the Cradle of Aviation Museum, expressed immense gratitude to the PSEG Long Island Energy Efficiency program for their invaluable support.

"We are immensely grateful to the PSEG Long Island Energy Efficiency program for its invaluable support in enabling the Cradle of Aviation Museum to transition from outdated tungsten lighting to energy-efficient LED lights," said Baxmeyer. "The new lighting not only enhances the visual clarity of our exhibits, it also significantly improves our preservation of artifacts and reduces our carbon footprint."

The Cradle of Aviation Museum's successful venture into sustainability stands as a testament to the positive impact that energy-efficient initiatives can have on both the environment and financial bottom line. As the museum continues to lead the way in responsible energy consumption, the community eagerly awaits further advancements in their commitment to a greener future.
